Streamlining Healthcare Claims with Incture 

One of the largest private healthcare groups in South-East Asia, comprising six distinct hospitals and 34 branches, sought to modernize their insurance claims process. They partnered to migrate their existing EDI systems from PO & Sterling Integrator to SAP Integration Suite, aiming to improve efficiency and patient experience.

  • Supports diverse integration patterns, including real-time, point-to-point, multiple senders and receivers, and content-based message routing. 
  • Ensures secure and reliable real-time transaction processing with easy report generation, payment settlements, and account reconciliation.

Challenge:

The Need for Efficiency and Transparency in Insurance Claims

The healthcare group faced significant challenges managing insurance claims through manual processes. This reliance on manual methods led to time and effort losses, particularly given the large scale of their operations. The existing manual processes lacked transparency, resulting in delays and inefficiencies in the claim process. The organization recognized the need for a streamlined, automated solution to enhance operational efficiency and improve patient satisfaction. 

Solution:

Implementing SAP Integration Suite for Automated Claims Management

To address these challenges, the healthcare group implemented an SAP cloud-based solution, automating the insurance claim process between hospitals and insurance companies. This involved digitizing the insurance claim process, transitioning from manual methods (fax, email, phone) to automated interfaces and API management. A customized Insurance Management System (IMS) was implemented, tailored to the specific needs of the healthcare group. Additionally, the billing process between hospitals and insurance companies was automated. Finally, the existing EDI systems from PO & Sterling Integrator were migrated to SAP Integration Suite. 

Results:

Enhanced Efficiency and Improved Patient Experience

By implementing the SAP Integration Suite, the healthcare group achieved significant improvements. The automated system drastically reduced the time required to process insurance claims, leading to shorter waiting times for patients. End-to-end visibility into the claims process enhanced transparency and accountability, ensuring that all stakeholders could track the status of claims in real-time. The automation of manual tasks freed up staff to focus on patient care and other critical activities, boosting overall operational efficiency. The SAP Integration Suite provided a secure and reliable platform for processing sensitive financial transactions, ensuring data integrity and compliance. By streamlining the claims process and reducing waiting times, the healthcare group significantly improved patient satisfaction.Â
