A global seafood leader on a strong growth trajectory, driven by a deep commitment to sustainability and innovation, set out to modernize its integration landscape. With a portfolio of trusted consumer brands that have delivered nutritious seafood to tables worldwide for over a century, the organization understood that sustaining growth required a stronger, more agile digital foundation. 

As operations expanded globally, the complexity of managing partners, vendors, and transactional data increased significantly. To accelerate revenue realization and improve operational efficiency, the company needed to reimagine how trading partners were onboarded, how EDI transactions were managed, and how data moved seamlessly across systems.

    Modernizing a Complex Global Partner Network

    Operating within a vast global seafood supply chain, the organization collaborates with numerous partners and vendors across regions. Efficiently managing Electronic Data Interchange transactions was essential to ensuring continuity in supply chain operations and maintaining service excellence. 

    However, the existing partner onboarding process was heavily dependent on legacy middleware and required significant manual effort. Onboarding new trading partners was time consuming, often taking weeks, and lacked the agility required in a dynamic global marketplace. At the same time, the company needed to migrate all partners and vendors onto SAP BTP to handle EDI transactions within the SAP ecosystem. 

    This transition had to be executed without disrupting the experience of end users or interrupting ongoing supply chain processes. The organization required a modern integration framework that could support high transaction volumes, provide real time visibility, strengthen governance, and meet security compliance standards.

    Enabling a Future-Ready Integration Strategy with SAP Integration Suite

    Solution

    Incture designed and implemented a comprehensive integration strategy centered on SAP Integration Suite to enable a seamless move from legacy middleware to the SAP ecosystem. The solution focused on modernizing EDI transaction handling for the customer’s supply chain management processes while establishing a scalable and secure integration architecture.

    The implementation leveraged key capabilities within SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration to orchestrate end to end processes and enable reliable connectivity across systems. Integration Advisory was used to streamline B2B integration content and mappings, while Trading Partner Management accelerated and standardized partner onboarding. 

    API Management ensured secure and scalable API exposure, and SAP BTP services such as Document Management Service and Transport Management Service strengthened document handling and lifecycle governance.

    To ensure long term alignment with the organization’s digital transformation roadmap, Incture applied the SAP Integration Solution Advisor methodology to define and govern the overall integration strategy. This structured approach enabled a smooth migration while maintaining operational continuity.

    In addition to modernizing the integration landscape, Incture established a standardized alerting framework to proactively detect failures, implemented automated retry mechanisms to minimize transaction disruptions, and enabled real time monitoring of B2B messages. The enhanced architecture also met stringent security compliance requirements, ensuring data integrity and governance across the ecosystem.

    Driving Agility, Efficiency, and Scalable Growth 

    With SAP Integration Suite at the core of its integration landscape, the organization successfully connected and orchestrated its global supply chain processes with greater efficiency and transparency. Trading partner onboarding time was reduced dramatically, from approximately three weeks to just three to five days. This significant improvement enhanced agility, reduced time to market, and enabled faster realization of revenue opportunities. 

    The standardized and automated integration framework led to substantial operational cost reductions, ranging from 15 percent to 25 percent. Real time monitoring and proactive alerting improved reliability and reduced downtime, while stronger governance mechanisms enhanced compliance and security. 

    By transforming its integration strategy, the global seafood leader established a resilient and scalable digital foundation. The organization is now better positioned to support sustained growth, adapt quickly to market changes, and continue delivering high quality seafood products to customers worldwide with greater speed and efficiency.
