Pioneering Seamless Healthcare Integration: A SAP Migration Story
When Critical Integrations Run on Borrowed Time
AÂ global leader in the Medtech industry, with over 125 years of innovation, set out to modernize its integration backbone. Known for advancing healthcare through diagnostics, imaging, therapy, and oncology solutions, the company relied on an aging SAP PO 7.5 system that was nearing its end-of-support. With critical integrations spanning banks, healthcare providers, logistics partners, and suppliers, maintaining business continuity while preparing for future scalability became a top priority.

Challenge:
A Legacy Platform Nearing Its LimitsÂ
With SAP PO 7.5 support scheduled to end in 2027, the company faced mounting pressure to act. Relying on an aging on-premise system to run hundreds of business-critical integrations introduced risks to security, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
At the same time, sensitive healthcare data demanded stronger protection, while growing digital demands called for a more agile, API-led integration approach. The challenge was clear: transition to a future-ready platform without disrupting ongoing operations.
Solution:
Accelerated Migration with Zero Disruption
Incture partnered with the Medtech leader to migrate over 150 integrations from SAP PO 7.5 to SAP Integration Suite within just three months. Working closely with 34 business areas, the team designed, migrated, and tested each interface to ensure business continuity. Critical connections with banks, healthcare providers, logistics partners, and suppliers were transitioned without defects.
To optimize performance, similar modules were consolidated into a unified integration flow, improving maintainability. JMS queues were implemented to handle failed messages reliably, while custom logging and real-time alert notifications integrated with Microsoft Outlook and Teams gave business users greater visibility. The migration also strengthened security, with banking integrations upgraded to OAuth 2.0 authentication for compliance with healthcare data standards.
Results:
A Future-Ready Integration Landscape
The migration to SAP Integration Suite gave the company a modern, cloud-based integration framework built for scale and resilience. By eliminating dependency on aging infrastructure, they reduced long-term costs while ensuring uninterrupted operations. Optimized integration flows and enhanced automation boosted efficiency, while real-time monitoring and analytics provided greater control.
Most importantly, the company is now positioned to adapt quickly as digital healthcare demands evolve. With secure, API-led integrations and a foundation for continuous innovation, they can support critical business functions today while preparing for the healthcare challenges of tomorrow.
