Design Manager
The design manager will lead the user experience, Process and Product Design portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the UI/UX design process from research through to conceptual design as well as supporting creation of documentation for the product. We are looking for a candidate with leadership and a strong creative mindset who can manage a team of talented UI/UX professionals.
- Run design workshops with customer stakeholders
- Lead strategic partnerships with SAP and Apple
- Lead setting up a design center for development location in Calgary, Canada
- Effective designing, thought provoking and bar raising digital products experience and cutting-edge creative solutions for web and mobile
- Participate in iterative process of delivering as well as critiquing designs to ensure effective and consistent design throughout
- Translate product usability into digital and online content
- Lead a team to partner with multiple stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, organizational leaders and other designers, in drafting and brainstorming/conceptualizing initial concepts
- Create workflows, personas, interaction flows/information architecture, low fidelity mock-ups and high-fidelity prototypes
- Identify, prioritize, and track usability issues and make design recommendations
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
- Keep an eye on trends and developments in the industry and identify capabilities that should be adopted
- Provide final detailed design specifications and assets for developers/engineers to implement
Required Skills:
- Background in UI/UX and preferably in B2B and enterprise applications. Proven track-record of success in bringing ideas from creation to execution
- Portfolio with a strong track record of executing the design process
- Fluency in best practices for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques.
- Experience with resources such as pattern libraries and design systems
- Experience working in a collaborative team and directly with geographically distributed developers for implementation of designs or creation of content
- Previous people management experience
- Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Ability to take independent action and interact with varying levels of leadership across the organization and with internal and external clients
